XALOC DIVING CENTER

Our dive centre was opened during January 1996, by Ramón Siliceo and Mercè Canyet,

   Ramón has a wide reputation in diving world. He obtanined his firs diving certification in 1.982 within the spanish official system during that time. Very soon he realized about the attraction he had by teaching diving, and he was engaged as instructor in an Estartit diving centre.

   After 11 years experience as diving instructor first and then manager during 3 years, he has also gain  an impressive knowledge about diving organizations (PADI Instructor, SSI Instructor, FEDAS/CMAS Instructor 3***, DAN Instructor, HSA Instructor, DSAT Instructor, MFA Instructor, SVBI Instructor…), later he gets the “instructor trainer degree in recreativ diving (PADI Course Director), tec diving (DSAT Instructor Trainer) and also in first aid (EFR Instructor Trainer) then the time arrives and he opens, with his wife Mercè, also a diver, Xaloc Diving Center in L’Estartit.

 The main goal in creating a new diving center in the need we had in Estartit to open a small operation in which divers arrive being clients and go away being friends.  

    How we do operate? Here you have some examples:

 * We have about 20different dive spots, some of them not visited by the rest of Estartit’s diving centers due the fact that they are far enough for them or because they need guides

* Our diving spots include Illes Medes Natural Park and also Massís del Montgrí (very closed to be declared Natural Park). And, for instance we have:
      - 2 wrecks (“Reggio” and “Marmolero”)

      - 6 cavern and cave zones, some of them with huge air chambers

      - 8 dive spots with gorgonian drop-offs.

      - Also we have some spots considered technichally easy and they are worthy for try dives and courses and also those afternoon dives in which low depths are compulsory.

* Our boat is a 11 metres fiberglass Quer, equiped with Radio VHF, Sounder, G.P.S., oxygen and first aid.

* And, which is most importan tour divers can choose to dive escorted by one of our guides (instructor or divemaster) with any extra cost, and doing so, your dive will be something sure and enjoyable

 Due to our own diving filosofy, based in quality and not in quantity, we try to stay away from the most crowded big Estartit diving boats, except in those cases that meteo plays against us, and we choose the spots that we considered the best in each moment, having in mind the experience and level of our divers.
