What does the Basic Diver experience at Xaloc Diving Center include?
The Basic Diver experience is divided into three carefully structured parts to ensure a safe, progressive and exciting introduction to diving.
Activity briefing
Before entering the water, your SSI Instructor will give you a clear and simple explanation of the activity.
You will learn about the diving equipment you’ll use, underwater communication signals, the exercises you’ll practice, and how the experience will unfold.
All your questions will be answered so you can start feeling relaxed and confident.
Pool session
Your first contact with scuba diving takes place in a swimming pool, a controlled and comfortable environment. You’ll learn and practice basic skills such as inflating and deflating your buoyancy vest, clearing a partially flooded mask, and removing and replacing the regulator underwater. This step is essential to build confidence and safety before the sea dive.
Boat dive in the sea
The sea dive is carried out from our diving boat, in a part of the Montgrí Natural Park accessible only by sea.
Each participant completes the dive individually accompanied by an SSI Instructor, with a 1:1 instructor-to-participant ratio in the sea, in accordance with current regulations. The maximum depth is 12 metres and the maximum sea dive time is 25 minutes per person, always adapted to your comfort and sensations.
If you book as a couple, family or group of friends, the activity is organized in 25-minute rotations. Depending on instructor availability and daily operations, additional instructors may be added so you can enjoy the experience together in an organized way, while always maintaining the highest level of safety and personalized attention.

The Basic Diver season runs from 30/05 till 15/09
