If you want to become a competent cave diver, you need specialized training and experience. At Xaloc Diving Center, we offer you a unique opportunity on the Costa Brava, with courses taught by highly qualified and internationally recognized instructors.

Our Extended Range Cave Diving SSI program is the first step into the fascinating world of cave diving. This course will provide you with the necessary training to independently and safely plan and conduct limited penetrations into caves, at depths of up to 40 meters, using the appropriate equipment and procedures for confined environments.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for experienced divers looking to specialize in cave diving:

- Minimum certification: SSI Advanced or equivalent (PADI, ACUC, CMAS 2**…)

- Technical diving certification: SSI Extended Range Foundations or equivalent (TDI, IANTD…)

- Minimum of 40 logged dives

- Nitrox and Deep Diving certification

- Minimum age: 18 years

- Sidemount certification (if taking the course in this configuration)

Training Philosophy: Quality and Safety

At Xaloc Diving Center, we train autonomous, safe, and competent divers, capable of diving with a buddy of the same or higher level.

Each course has a minimum duration, but certification is not automatic. You will only be certified once your instructor determines that you have met the standards required by SSI and Xaloc, ensuring that you can safely dive in this challenging environment.

For this reason, the course is charged per training day (€200/day). If you need additional time to meet the requirements, you can extend your training with extra practice days.

XR CAVE DIVING COURSE PROGRAM

* Self-study at home + practical theory sessions in L’Estartit
– Access to interactive learning materials from any device, with flexible training to study at your own pace and constant support from your SSI technical diving instructor at Xaloc Diving Center.

* Equipment setup session
– Learn how to correctly configure your gear for confined environment diving.

* Physical fitness test
– We will ensure that you are physically prepared to successfully complete the course.

* Confined water practice
– Improve essential skills such as buoyancy, trim, and equipment handling.

* Cave dives
– As cave diving does not have direct access to the surface, you will learn its risks and also how to behave inside the caves, trim and use of the reel, as well as plan cave dives

* Cave diving competence and safety
– This course provides you with the necessary training to plan and conduct cavern dives following BOE guidelines, down to 40 meters deep, always accompanied by a diver of the same or higher level.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE COURSE

Minimum duration: 6 days

Price: 200 €/day (per person)

Booking fee: 600 € upon confirmation of registration

Instructor: Ramon Siliceo Canyet, internationally recognized cave diving expert

Location: Montgrí Natural Park

- Twinset or sidemount tanks (depending on configuration)

What’s NOT included in the price?

- Boat dives:

- €60/session (1 student)

- €30/session (2-3 students)

Required diving equipment (provided by the student):

- Full gear with double buoyancy redundancy

- Primary light and 2 backup lights

- 2 Safety spools (minimum 45m)

- Arrows and cookies

- Wetnotes

- 2 cutting devices

- 2 masks

* remember that if you need any material, you can buy it in our store

Equipment rental:

- We recommend bringing your own technical diving gear, but if logistics make this difficult, please contact us for rental prices.

- Cave primary light: €25/day (if rental is required).

Important conditions & requirements

- Medical certificate required

- Diving insurance required (available for purchase at our center)

- If you do not meet the course objectives within 6 days, additional training days will be necessary (200 €/day + boat dive costs).
