With the Specialty Advanced “Platinum” course, and in just 8 dives, you can combine high-quality training and adventure through a selection of 4 specialties that will connect you with the extraordinary environment of the Montgrí Natural Park and the Medes Islands.
Who can join this course?
This pack is ideal for divers certified as Open Water or equivalent (SSI, PADI, ACUC, CMAS 1*, etc.) who want to take an important step forward in their development by starting to dive with a dry suit and a wing-style BC instead of the traditional recreational jacket.
The Specialty Advanced “Platinum” course includes 4 SSI specialties:
* 3 mandatory specialties: Deep Diving, Perfect Buoyancy, Dry Suit Diving and Underwater Navigation.
* 1 optional specialty: Marine Ecology, Nitrox or Underwater Navigation.
These are the two main stages of the course:
1. Marine Ecology or Nitrox or Underwater Navigation:
* If you choose Marine Ecology, you will explore the habitats of the Montgrí Natural Park and the Medes Islands, learning how to interact responsibly with marine life.
* If you select Nitrox, you will discover the advantages of enriched air —such as longer bottom times— and the technical considerations for its safe use.
* If you choose Underwater Navigation, you will refine your observation techniques and learn to use your compass precisely to navigate safely underwater.
2. Deep Diving:
You will descend to 40 metres while practising advanced skills such as compass navigation, buoyancy control at depth, safe ascents and descents, and management of unexpected situations.
3. Dry Suit Diving:
A dry suit keeps you insulated from the water and ensures comfort even in surprisingly cold conditions. Becoming a dry suit diver expands your limits and allows you to dive in more places throughout the year.
4. Perfect Buoyancy:
You will refine your body control to move with precision, reducing your impact on the marine environment while increasing comfort and efficiency on every dive.
You’ll study online with the SSI digital system, gaining access to interactive manuals and completing assessments and final exams for each course.

- The price includes:
* Digital learning materials.
* 8 Open water dives + 1 pool session with a certified instructor.
* 4 official SSI specialty certifications.
* If you wish, you may use a wing-style BCD instead of the traditional recreational jacket.
- Duration: 4 days
- What to bring: Your own diving equipment.
- Equipment rental: If needed, the full rental cost is €20.
- Diving locations: 6 dives along the Montgrí Coast and at least 2 in the Marine Reserve of the Medes Islands — two of the Mediterranean’s great references for biodiversity and underwater beauty.
- Mandatory requirements:
* Medical form: If the form is clear, no medical certificate is required. Otherwise, a certificate will be necessary.
* Valid diving accident insurance: Available at Xaloc (€42 annually or €8 daily).
- Who will train you?: A certified SSI instructor with an official guide diploma for the Montgrí Natural Park, Medes Islands, and Baix Ter, ensuring safe and high-quality training.
