Curso de Especialidad en Cavernas y Cenotes (recreativo)

Exploration, Emotion, Experiences

Many divers contact us because they want to learn how to dive in caves.
But many of them are not sure if they want to do all the training or just want to “try it.”
If you just want to try the world of cavern diving… this is your course.
We offer you a course in which you will use a single tank and standard diving equipment, making a small configuration change and a couple of lights. You will always be inside the cavern area where you can see the light from the exit.
This course will make you a better diver because you will focus on trim, buoyancy and working with the reels as well as simple dive planning.

Who can take this course?
The SSI Recreational Caverns and Cenotes specialty diver course are perfect for those SSI Open Water divers or equivalent (PADI, ACUC, CMAS, etc.) who want to continue advancing in their training as a diver.

The Recreational Caverns and Cenotes  course includes 4 components:

A) Practical: 1 theory session

We will talk about underwater safety, propulsion techniques, environmental awareness, specific equipment and communication

B) Practical: 1 pool or confined water session

Here you will begin to apply what you have learned in the classroom but in an easy and stress-free aquatic environment.

C) 2 open water dives

As cave diving does not have direct access to the surface, you will have to learn its risks, how divers should adapt to its conditions and also how to behave within them.

Our recreational Cavern/Cenote diving course provides the necessary training to feel comfortable and safe in dives within the light zone of the caverns according to the BOE, always accompanied by a guide.

D) Theory

You should read the topics related to the course you are going to take, and complete the evaluations and the final exam of the course.
The system used is online, that is, the SSI digital system – to start immediately. Each person studies at their own pace, through an interactive and easy-to-use program. You have access to the online version of the manual and you can complete the theoretical part of the course in this way.
