EXTENDED RANGE UPGRADE · THE NATURAL STEP AFTER XR NITROX
If you already hold the Extended Range Nitrox Diving certification, this upgrade program allows you to complete your training and obtain the SSI Extended Range certification efficiently, focusing exclusively on the additional skills and procedures required for this level.
This is not about repeating content, but about expanding your competencies. We will build on the solid foundation you already have in decompression planning, gas management, and technical configuration to introduce more demanding scenarios, greater operational autonomy, and advanced protocols specific to the Extended Range program.
During these two days, you will consolidate equipment control, multiple gas management, deeper dive planning, and the application of standardized procedures in real situations, preparing you to dive with greater safety, precision, and confidence.
This upgrade enables you to develop the necessary skills to conduct dives up to 45 meters using air as bottom gas, with planned decompression stops, and to continue progressing toward higher technical levels within the SSI training pathway.
Who is this program for?
This program is exclusively intended for divers certified as Extended Range Nitrox (or equivalent), with recent decompression diving experience and a solid foundation in buoyancy control, trim, and technical procedures.
Training philosophy: quality and safety
At Xaloc Diving Center we train autonomous, safe, and competent divers, capable of diving with a buddy of the same or higher level.
Each course has a minimum number of days, but certification is not automatic. You will be certified only when your instructor considers that you have reached the standards required by SSI and Xaloc, ensuring that you can dive safely in this demanding environment.
For this reason, the course is charged per training day at 150 € per day. If you need more time to reach the objectives, you can add additional practice days.

In just two days, you will complete the transition from XR Nitrox to Extended Range through focused, practical training aimed at real-world safety.

What is included in the price?: Twinset or single tank,
Weights, Air or nitrox fills, Boat dives and SSI online learning materials
The price does not include: the required personal diving equipment, which must be provided by the student:
Suit, preferably drysuit, wing-style buoyancy compensator, fins, two masks, reel and decompression buoy, two first stages with two second stages, one with a long hose, dive computer and underwater slate, two cutting tools such as a knife and line cutter, and a primary dive light.
Remember that if you need any equipment, you can purchase it at our shop.
Equipment rental: We recommend bringing your own technical diving gear. However, if logistical reasons prevent you from doing so, rental equipment is available for 50 € per day.
Important conditions and requirements:
- Mandatory medical certificate
- Mandatory dive insurance, available for purchase at our center
- If the objectives are not achieved within 2 days, additional training days will be required at 150 euros per day
